Rams Defeat Mount Saint Vincent; Remain Unbeaten in Skyline

Riverdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team recorded a 3-1 victory at Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday as they improved to a perfect 3-0 in Skyline Conference play and 3-6-3 overall. The Dolphins fell to 5-4, 3-1 on the season.

FSC used Destiny Pomarico's (West Babylon, N.Y.) second goal of the season in the 31st minute to take the early 1-0 lead. With only 2:06 left to play in the first half, the Rams increased the advantage to 2-0 on a score from sophomore midfielder Rae-Anne Guglielmo (West Babylon, N.Y.) off the pass by junior defender Casey Fackner (North Babylon, N.Y.). Mount Saint Vincent's leading goal scorer Julia McGowan (Pearl River, N.Y.) tallied her ninth of the season only 26 seconds later to cut the deficit to 2-1 heading into the break. Farmingdale State took 16 shots in the half, while holding Mount Saint Vincent to only four.

The final goal of the game was scored by Farmingdale State freshman midfielder Karen Rodriguez (Brentwood, N.Y.) in the 68th minute as the Rams earned the 3-1 conference victory.

MSV junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Martin (Lawrenceville, N.J.) stopped 18 shots in the loss.

The Rams will now play host to Sarah Lawrence on Saturday, October 1st at noon.
