Rams Drop Non-Conference Game at Amherst

Amherst - 3, Farmingdale State - 1


Amherst, Mass. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team traveled to Amherst College for a non-conference game on Sunday and were defeated, 3-1.

The Purple & White (4-2-1) opened the scoring only 3:20 into the game on a goal by junior forward Hannah Guzzi (Southborough, Mass.). Guzzi followed with her second score of the afternoon in the 13th minute to increase the Amherst advantage to 2-0. The Purple & White outshot Farmingdale State (2-6-3) 5-2 in the first as they took their 2-0 lead into the halftime break. 

Less than four minutes into the second half, senior midfielder Emily Hester (Washington, D.C.) tallied an unassisted goal to put Amherst on top by three.

With 37:52 remaining, the Rams scored the final goal of the day when sophomore forward Kimberly LiVecchi (Massapequa, N.Y.) netted the pass from freshman midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.).

FSC returns to conference action on Wednesday, September 28th as they head to Mount Saint Vincent.
