Rams Open Skyline Play with Win Over Old Westbury

Farmingdale, N.Y. - In their first Skyline Conference game of the season, the Farmingdale State women's soccer team defeated Old Westbury, 6-0.

The Rams (1-5-3, 1-0) struck first in the 10th minute on a Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) goal off Destiny Pomarico's (West Babylon, N.Y.) pass. FSC increased the advantage to 2-0 with 29:39 left in the half after an unassisted score by Pomarico. Less than five minutes later, freshman midfielder Edasia Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) gave Farmingdale State a three-goal lead with her score off the feed by sophomore defender Olivia Howard (Levittown, N.Y.). The fourth and final goal of the half was netted by junior forward Erika Anzalone (North Bellmore, N.Y.). The Rams outshot Old Westbury (1-4, 0-2) 17-3 in the first half.

In the second, Farmingdale State added goals by senior midfielder Alexis Caracappa (Wantagh, N.Y.) and freshman forward Nichole Amador (Tampa, Fla.) to cap off the 6-0 victory

Pomarico finished with a game-high four points on a goal and two assists.

FSC next will travel to Purchase for a conference game on Saturday, September 24th at 2:30 p.m.
