#23 Ithaca Edges Rams in Double Overtime

Ithaca, N.Y. - In a non-conference women's soccer game on Sunday afternoon, Farmingdale State traveled to #23 Ithaca College and fell, 1-0, in double overtime. The Bombers improved to a perfect 4-0 on the season, while the Rams dropped to 0-3-2.

In a scoreless first 45 minutes of action, Ithaca outshot FSC 8-2 and held a 7-2 corner kick advantage. In the second half, each team attempted three shots, including two on goal for the Bombers and one for Farmingdale State as the game headed to overtime tied, 0-0.

Ithaca took the only shot in the first overtime before senior forward Megan Nash (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) tallied the game-winning goal in the 106th minute, leading the Bombers to the 1-0 victory.

Farmingdale State sophomore goalie Karla Gomes (Carle Place, N.Y.) recorded 10 saves, while sophomore Stacey DiGiorgio (Utica, N.Y.) stopped five shots for Ithaca.

The Rams will now host non-conference opponent NYU on Wednesday, September 14th at 4:00 p.m.
