Farmingdale, N.Y. - With only 55 seconds remaining and Farmingdale State trailing 1-0, junior forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) scored the game-tying goal for the Rams. After a pair of scoreless overtimes, the game ended in a 1-1 tie as FSC women's soccer team now stands at 0-2-2 on the season.
In the 73rd minute of action, Trinity (0-0-1) used an unassisted goal from 20 yards out by senior midfielder Laura Nee (Duxbury, Mass.) to break the scoreless tie and take a 1-0 advantage. Howard's game-tying goal, where she moved past a defender and netted the shot in the bottom right corner, evened the score and forced overtime.
The Bantams controlled the offense in the first overtime period as they outshot Farmingdale State 6-0 but were unable to find the net.
In the second overtime, the Rams defense allowed only one shot, which went wide, as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
FSC freshman goalkeeper Daniela Ford (Dix Hills, N.Y.) stopped a career-high 11 shots, while junior Julia Pitino (Littleton, Mass.) had six saves for Trinity.
The Rams will now travel to #23 Ithaca for a non-conference game on Sunday, September 11th at 1:00 p.m.
