Kiefer, Thompson and Howard Named All-East Region

Kansas City, Mo. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) announced the 2015 NSCAA Division III All-Region teams on Wednesday, December 2nd. Farmingdale State senior defender Andrea Kiefer* (Centereach, N.Y.) and senior forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) were each named to the Second Team, while sophomore midfielder Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) earned Third Team honors.

Kiefer, a team captain, has been named All-Region for the third time in her career. She was named the 2011 Skyline Rookie of the Year, 2012 and 2014 Defensive Player of the Year and in 2015 was a First Team All-Conference selection. Kiefer anchored a Farmingdale State defense which did not allow a goal in any of their final 11 games this season.

Thompson recorded her third consecutive All-Region award and was named All-Conference in each of her four seasons as Farmingdale State. This year she led the Rams in assists (6) and ranked third in both goals (7) and points (20). Thompson holds career school records for goals (49), points (123) and game-winning goals (16).

Howard, who was named the 2015 Skyline Conference Player of the Year, earned her first All-Region honors this year. She was second on Farmingdale State in goals (8), assists (5) and points (21).
