Howard Records Career-High Seven Points in Win over Maritime

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Sophomore forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) recorded a career-high seven points on two goals and three assists as the Farmingdale State women's soccer team posted a 9-0 victory over Maritime this afternoon.  With the win, the Rams improved to 9-5-2 overall and 6-1 in Skyline play.

With 37:52 remaining in the first half, Farmingdale State junior midfielder Ashley Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) opened the scoring and only 24 seconds later, a Howard goal put the Rams ahead, 2-0.

In the 21st minute, freshman midfielder Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.) connected off a Howard cross to increase the FSC advantage to 3-0.

The Rams were held scoreless the remainder of the half and took a 3-0 lead into the break. Farmingdale State out shot Maritime (6-9, 3-5) 43-0 in the first half.

The fourth and fifth goals of the contest were scored by Guerrero and Howard early in the second half to put the Rams on top by five.

Over the final 30 minutes, FSC added a pair of goals from junior midfielder Alena Gannon* (North Babylon, N.Y.) and scores by sophomore midfielder Ana Campos (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and sophomore forward Samantha Morra (Levittown, N.Y.) to cap off the 9-0 win.

The Rams held the Privateers without a shot the entire game.

Howard finished with career-highs in both points (7) and assists (3).

FSC next will travel to Union College to square off against Sage in a Skyline Conference game on Thursday, October 22nd at 8:00 p.m.
