Four Players Score as Rams Blank Old Westbury

Old Westbury, N.Y. - After leading 1-0 at half, the Farmingdale State women's soccer team scored three second half goals as they earned a 4-0 Skyline Conference victory at Old Westbury this afternoon.

Only 5:01 into the game, the Rams (7-5-2, 5-1) took a 1-0 lead on a free kick goal by senior midfielder Melissa Lijo* (Flushing, N.Y.). The Panthers (7-5, 4-2) were held to no shots on goal and only one shot in the first half.

With 32:28 remaining, Farmingdale State increased the advantage to 2-0 as senior forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) connected off the cross from junior midfielder Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.).

Freshman midfielder Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.) recorded the third FSC goal in the 65th minute off the pass by junior midfielder Ashley Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.). Junior midfielder Alexis Caracappa (Wantagh, N.Y.) scored the final goal of the game and her first of the season with two seconds left on the clock.

The Rams out shot Old Westbury 30-2 in the game.

Farmingdale State next will host Skidmore for Senior Day on Sunday, October 18th at 2:00 p.m.
