Farmingdale State Cruises Past St. Joseph's-Brooklyn

Farmingdale State – 11, St. Joseph's-Brooklyn – 0


Farmingdale, NY – The Farmingdale State women's soccer team defeated St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 11-0 in a Skyline Conference game today. The Rams improved to 4-5-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play, while the Bears fell to 1-6, 0-5.

The Rams opened the scoring in the second minute as senior Ashley Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) scored off of a pass from junior Alexandria Tudisco (Massapequa, N.Y.). Farmingdale State scored their second goal of the game when Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) tallied a goal in the sixth minute. Guerrero recorded her second goal of the game just 14 seconds later to make it 3-0.

Junior Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.), freshman Allison Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) and freshman Michelle Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) each added a goal to increase the advantage to 6-0.

Freshmen Destiny Pomarico (West Babylon, N.Y.) and Rae-Anne Gugliemo (West Babylon, N.Y.) scored two goals apiece to give the Rams a 10-0 halftime lead.

Farmingdale State added one goal in the second half and held St. Joseph's-Brooklyn without a shot in the 11-0 victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Izabella Armstrong (Farmdale, Ohio) stopped 25 shots in the loss for the Bears.

The Rams next will travel to Sarah Lawrence in a conference game on Wednesday, October 7th at 7:30pm. The game will be played at Tibbetts Brook Park #3.
