Strong First Half Leads Stevens Past Rams

Hoboken, N.J. - Stevens scored four first half goals en route to a 6-3 non-conference win over the Farmingdale State women's soccer team on Wednesday in Hoboken, N.J.

The Rams (2-4-1) opened the scoring in the 15th minute as junior midfielder Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) scored on a header off the corner kick by senior forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.).

The Ducks (5-2) evened the game at 1-1 after freshman forward Zisi Komar (San Diego, Calif.) recorded an unassisted goal with 26:53 remaining in the first half. After two consecutive goals by Stevens, Komar tallied her second score of the game to increase the Ducks lead to 4-1.

Early in the second half, junior defender Alexandria Tudisco (Massapequa, N.Y.) scored on a header off Ashley Guerrero's (East Meadow, N.Y.) corner kick to cut the deficit to 4-2.

After Stevens increased their lead to 6-2, Guerrero scored the final goal of the game for Farmingdale State in the 81st minute.

The Rams next will open Skyline Conference play when they host Purchase on Friday, September 25th at 4:00 p.m.
