Green Scores Twice as SUNY Geneseo Defeats Rams

Farmingdale, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior midfielder Emily Green (Loudonville, N.Y.) scored twice as the Knights earned a 2-0 win over the Farmingdale State women's soccer team this afternoon. SUNY Geneseo improved to 4-1-1 on the season, while the Rams fell to 2-3-1.

Green opened the scoring only 6:56 into the game as she recorded a goal from 25 yards out off the pass from sophomore forward Leah Greene (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.). With 9:27 left in the first half, Green tallied her second goal of the game to increase the Knights lead to 2-0. Farmingdale State outshot SUNY Geneseo 11-5 in the half but were unable to score.

In a scoreless second half, Farmingdale State held a 5-1 shot advantage but the Knights earned the 2-0 non-conference victory.

SUNY Geneseo freshman goalkeeper Emily Janiszewski (Buffalo, N.Y.) stopped eight shots in the game.

The Rams next will travel to Stevens for a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 23rd at 4:00 p.m.
