Early Goal Leads Scranton Past Rams

Farmingdale, N.Y. - A goal by junior forward Kelly Egan (Essex Fells, N.J.) in the 18th minute led the University of Scranton past Farmingdale State, 1-0, today in non-conference women's soccer action. The Royals improved to 4-2-1 overall, while the Rams drop to 2-2-1 on the season.

Egan's first-half goal was a blast from 20 yards out and would stand as the only goal of the game. As Scranton led the shots overall, 18-8, Farmingdale State's senior goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) made 11 saves for the day.

For the Royals, junior Krissy Welsh (Swarthmore, Pa.) made just three saves for the shutout win.

The Rams will next host SUNY Geneseo on Sunday, September 20th in a non-conference game at 11:00 a.m.
