Rams Fall at #25 Ithaca

Ithaca, N.Y. - Farmingdale State traveled to #25 Ithaca College for a non-conference women's soccer game this afternoon and fell, 2-0. The Rams now stand at 2-1-1 on the year, while the Bombers improved to 3-1.

Ithaca opened the scoring with 33:53 remaining in the first half as senior forward Sarah Woychick (Penfield, N.Y.) netted the pass from senior midfielder Kelsey King (Coopersburg, Penn.). In the 31st minute, the Bombers increased their lead to 2-0 after junior forward Holly Niemiec (Wilmington, Mass.) was credited with the goal after it was deflected into the net by Farmingdale State. Ithaca outshot the Rams 10-9 in the first half and took a 2-0 advantage into the break.

In the second half, each team attempted nine shots but were unable to score as the Bombers earned the 2-0 non-conference victory.

Farmingdale State senior goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) had three saves in the first half and freshman Karla Gomes (Carle Place, N.Y.) stopped two shots in the second half. Ithaca's Beth Coppolecchia (Katonah, N.Y.) had a game-high eight saves in the win.

The Rams next will host Scranton in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, September 19th at 1:00 p.m.
