Rams Fall in First Round of NCAA's

#15 Johns Hopkins - 4, Farmingdale State - 0


Baltimore, Md. - Farmingdale State fell to #15 Johns Hopkins (17-3-1) tonight in the First Round of the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. The Rams finish the season with an overall record of 14-6-3, while the Blue Jays advance to the Second Round game on Sunday, November 16th at 5:00 p.m.

Hopkins' senior midfielder Sydney Teng (Fairport, N.Y.) scored the lone goal of the first half, as she sent a 27-yard strike into the top left corner of the goal in the 32nd minute. The score would stand at 1-0 at the break, while Farmingdale State's junior goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) made five saves in the half on the Blue Jays' six shots on goal.

In the second, Hopkins dominated the shots (11-0) and forced 13 Rams fouls while adding three goals. Two goals came within a 26-second span and the final goal came in the last minute of play.

The winner of Geneseo/Frostburg State will face Hopkins tomorrow in Second Round action.
