Indianapolis, Ind. - The NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Committee announced today the field of 64 teams for the 2014 Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

Farmingdale State (14-5-3) will face host school Johns Hopkins (16-3-1) in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, November 15th. The other First Round game will feature SUNY Geneseo (16-2-2) and Frostburg State (13-4-5) with the winners playing in a Second Round game on Sunday, November 16th.

The Rams captured their eighth consecutive Skyline Conference Title with a 2-1 victory over Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Alena Gannon (North Babylon, N.Y.) and junior Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) each recorded a goal in the Skyline Championship. Thompson, who was named the Tournament MVP, leads the team in goals (17) and points (44) this season.

Johns Hopkins received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after falling on penalty kicks to Swarthmore in the Centennial Conference Championship game. Senior forward Hannah Kronick is the Jays offensive leader with 13 goals, including five game-winners and seven assists. Johns Hopkins enters the Tournament as the 22nd ranked team in the nation.

SUNY Geneseo, who is the 23rd-ranked team in Division III, earned an automatic bid after defeating Cortland in the SUNYAC Championship, 1-0. With the win, the Knights captured their sixth SUNYAC Championship in program history and earned their first automatic bid since 2009.

Frostburg State punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament with a 2-0 win over Mary Washington in the Capital Athletic Championship game. The Bobcats earned their second conference championship victory in the last three seasons.

Forty-four conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the 2014 championship. The final 20 berths were reserved for Pool C, which include institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion and any Pool B teams. There were no separate berths awarded this year to Pool B, which consists of independent institutions, and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification.

Sixteen four-team sites will conduct first- and second-round play on the first weekend of the championship, November 14-15 or 15-16. Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites November 21-22 or 22-23. All games, except the semifinals and final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. Winners of the four sectionals will advance to the semifinals December 5-6, at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.

In last year's final, William Smith defeated Trinity (Texas) by a score of 2-0, to win the championship.
