Rams Close Out Regular Season with Win at Maritime

Throggs Neck, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 10-2 win at Maritime on Monday evening. The Rams earned the top-seed heading into the Skyline Conference playoffs.

Farmingdale State (12-5-3, 7-0-1) jumped out to an early lead as sophomore midfielder Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Shannon Murphy (North Babylon, N.Y.) each recorded a goal in the first 5:16 of action.

Junior forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) scored in the 12th minute followed by back-to-back goals from junior midfielder Melissa Lijo* (Flushing, N.Y.) which put the Rams ahead 5-0. Farmingdale State added a pair of late first half goals to take a 7-0 advantage into the break.

The Rams outscored Maritime 3-2 in the second half en route to the 10-2 conference victory.

Farmingdale State will host the winner of #5 St. Joseph's/#4 Mount Saint Vincent in the Skyline Conference Semifinals on Wednesday, November 5th.
