Purchase, N.Y. - In Skyline Conference women's soccer action this evening, Farmingdale State earned an 8-0 victory at Purchase College.
The Rams (9-4-2, 4-0) scored their first goal of the game in the 9th minute as freshman forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) connected off the pass from Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.).
With 20:22 left to play in the first half, Farmingdale State increased the advantage to 2-0 on a goal by sophomore midfielder Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.). Only 3:44 later, Thompson scored to give the Rams a 3-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
Early in the second half, Howard tallied her second goal of the game as Farmingdale State went ahead 4-0.
Alena Gannon (North Babylon, N.Y.), Melissa Lijo* (Flushing, N.Y.), Sam Johrden (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Alexis Caracappa (Wantagh, N.Y.) all added second half goals in the victory.
Thompson finished the game with one goal and three assists.
Purchase (6-6, 2-2) was held to only two shots in the game.
The Rams next will travel to St. Joseph's for a conference game on Thursday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m.
