Rams Fall at #17 TCNJ

#17 The College of New Jersey - 4, Farmingdale State - 0


Ewing, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team traveled to Ewing, N.J. to face 17th-ranked The College of New Jersey and fell, 4-0. The Rams dropped to 8-4-2 on the year, while the Lions improved to 9-2.

TCNJ jumped out to an early 1-0 lead only 1:25 into the game after freshman midfielder Elizabeth Thoresen (Colts Neck, N.J.) scored off the pass from Jessica Goldman (Belle Mead, N.J.). The Rams were unable to tie the game throughout the remainder of the first half as the Lions took their 1-0 advantage into the break.

With 32:07 left to play, TCNJ extended their lead to 2-0 on a Christine Levering (Robbinsville, N.J.) goal. Goldman and Thoresen added scores in the 61st and 62nd minute, respectively to quickly put the Lions ahead 4-0.

TCNJ held Farmingdale State without a shot in the game as they earned the 4-0 non-conference victory.

Farmingdale State next will travel to St. Joseph's for a Skyline Conference game on Thursday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m.
