Rams Drop Non-Conference Game at #4 Ithaca

Ithaca, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team fell, 2-0, in a non-conference game at fourth-ranked Ithaca College on Sunday afternoon. The Rams now stand at 1-2-1 on the season, while the Bombers are a perfect 3-0.

Ithaca broke the scoreless tie with 32:30 remaining in the first half as junior midfielder Kelsey King (Coopersburg, Penn.) scored an unassisted goal. The Bombers outshot the Rams 9-7 in the first half and held a 4-0 corner kick advantage. 

The Bombers continued to hold their 1-0 lead until sophomore forward Jess Demczar (Hyde Park, N.Y.) netted a free kick from just outside the box with less than two minutes remaining in the game. Ithaca went on to win 2-0 and remain perfect on the season.

Junior goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) recorded seven saves for Farmingdale State, while junior Beth Coppolecchia (Katonah, N.Y.) had four saves in the victory.

The Rams next will travel to Western Connecticut State for a non-conference game on Thursday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m.
