2013 Women's Soccer Season Recap

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team captured their seventh consecutive Skyline Conference Championship with a 2-0 win at top-seeded Mount Saint Mary College. The Rams advanced to the NCAA Tournament and dropped their First Round game 1-0 versus Oneonta State.

Sophomore forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) was named First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-ECAC and Third Team All-East Region, while freshman defender Alexa Orlando (Holtsville, N.Y.) earned First Team All-Skyline, First Team All-ECAC and Third Team All-Region honors. Junior midfielder Bethany Bianco (Babylon, N.Y.) was named First Team All-Conference and a First Team All-ECAC All-Star and junior defender Samantha Kender* (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was tabbed Second Team All-Skyline.

Thompson started every game and led the team in goals (15), assists (5), points (35), game-winning goals (5) and penalty kick scores (2). Freshman midfielder Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) was second on the team with eight goals and freshman forward Alena Gannon (North Babylon, N.Y.) was third with six. Freshman midfielder Ashley Appel (Bellmore, N.Y.) tallied eight points with three goals and two assists on the season.

The Rams graduated only one senior this year.
