New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team had four players earn All-Conference honors in voting conducted by the league's nine head coaches. First Team selections included sophomore forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), junior midfielder Bethany Bianco (Babylon, N.Y.) and freshman defender Alexa Orlando (Holtsville, N.Y.), while junior defender Samantha Kender* (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named to the Second Team.
Thompson, who started every game this season, leads the team in goals, assists, points and game-winning goals. In the Skyline, she ranks fourth in both goals and points and is tied for 10th in assists.
Bianco, in her first season at Farmingdale State, appeared in 19 games and tallied one assist from her midfield position.
Orlando started 18 games and scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Mount Saint Vincent. She anchors a defense that allowed two goals and had seven shutouts in conference play.
Kender, a team captain, started all 20 games this year. She helped the Rams hold a 1.05 goals against average, which is third best in the Skyline Conference. Kender tallied one assist from her defensive position.
