Rams Fall in Non-Conference Game Versus NYU

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team fell, 2-0, in a non-conference game versus NYU this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams close out the regular season on Saturday as they travel to Mount Saint Mary College with the winner earning the top-seed in the Skyline Conference playoffs.

With only 1:05 remaining in the first half, sophomore forward Melissa Menta (Somers, N.Y.) dribbled around the goalkeeper and scored to put NYU (7-5-3) on top, 1-0. The Violets outshot Farmingdale State (11-8) 6-4 in the first half.

Leading 1-0 with less than four minutes to play, NYU increased their lead to 2-0 on a Cami Crawford (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) goal after being set up by Menta's pass.

Sophomore goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) made four saves in 62 minutes of action for the Rams, while freshman Cassie Steinberg (Boca Raton, Fla.) stopped three shots in the victory.

Farmingdale State will take on Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
