Thompson's Early Score Leads Rams Past Old Westbury

Old Westbury, N.Y. - Sophomore forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal for Farmingdale State only 10 minutes into the Skyline Conference matchup at Old Westbury this afternoon.

The Rams (11-7, 7-0) controlled the offense in the first half as they outshot the Panthers 22-1 and held a 5-1 corner kick advantage.

In the second half, Farmingdale State held Old Westbury scoreless after allowing only four shots to earn the victory, 1-0.

Sophomore goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) had two saves in the win, while junior Caitlin Thomas (Patchogue, N.Y.) stopped 15 shots for Old Westbury (8-7, 3-3).

The Rams next will host NYU on senior day in a non-conference game on Wednesday, October 23rd at 4:00 p.m.
