Rams Remain Perfect in Skyline with win over Panthers

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team improved to a perfect 6-0 in Skyline Conference play after a 4-0 victory over Purchase this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams now stand at 10-7 overall, while the Panthers drop to 4-8 and 2-3 in conference action.

Sophomore midfielder Melissa Lijo* (Flushing, N.Y.) gave the Rams a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal at 12:37. Less than a minute later, freshman forward Alena Gannon (North Babylon, N.Y.) tallied the second goal for Farmingdale State. A breakaway score by sophomore forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) put the Rams ahead 3-0, before freshman midfielder Gabrielle Kasulke (Seaford, N.Y.) recorded the games final goal in the 25th minute.

Farmingdale State held Purchase to just two shots in the win.

Senior goalkeeper Jess Lindsay (Rochester, N.Y.) stopped a game-high 10 shots for Purchase in defeat.

The Rams next will travel to Old Westbury for a Skyline game on Saturday, October 19th at 2:30 p.m.
