Farmingdale State - 2, Stevens - 1


Hoboken, N.J. - Junior midfielder Sam Johrden (Deer Park, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute leading Farmingdale State to a 2-1 non-conference win over Stevens. The Rams now stand at 4-3 on the year, while the Ducks fell to 2-4.

Stevens took an early 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by freshman midfielder Gabby Mathelier (Pomona, N.Y.) off a free kick from 23 yards out. Farmingdale State answered five minutes later as sophomore forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) scored off the feed from freshman midfielder Alexis Caracappa (Wantagh, N.Y.). 

With 5:39 remaining, Johrden broke the 1-1 tie as she scored the game-winner from the right corner after being set up by Thompson. The Rams held the Ducks to only one shot the rest of the game en route to the 2-1 victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Monzillo (Medford, N.Y.) tallied four saves for Farmingdale State.

The Rams next will host Scranton on Saturday, September 21st at 2:00 p.m.
