Mount Saint Mary - 2, Farmingdale State - 1

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Sophomore forward Vanessa DiSilvio (Massapequa, N.Y.) scored both goals for Mount Saint Mary College as they defeated the Rams 2-1 in today's Skyline Conference women's soccer game. The Knights improve to 9-2-1 overall and remain undefeated in conference play at 4-0, while Farmingdale State falls to 7-6, 2-2 in Skyline play.

After a scoreless first half, DiSilvio gave Mount Saint Mary the 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute, assisted by sophomore defender Jordyn Catapano (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.). Farmingdale tied the game 1-1 at 71:48, off a free kick from sophomore defender Andrea Kiefer (Centereach, N.Y.), which was sent home by senior forward Corine Magee (Mastic, N.Y.).

DiSilvio gave the Knights the 2-1 lead on a shot from 30 yards out, which would stand as the game-winner as Farmingdale could not capitalize on some late chances.

Rams freshman goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) made seven saves in defeat, while junior keeper Jacquelyn Mancini (Valley Stream, N.Y.) made six saves for the win.

Farmingdale State will now face Purchase in a conference game on Tuesday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m.
