Farmingdale State - 1, Western Connecticut - 0

Danbury, Conn. - Senior forward Corine Magee (Mastic, N.Y.) scored the game's only goal, in the 63rd minute, as Farmingdale State College held on to defeat host Western Connecticut State University, 1-0, at The WAC on Tuesday night.

Magee was the recipient of a pair of clean, unchallenged passes, beginning with Theresa Martorano's (Commack, N.Y.) at midfield and capping off with a direct pass from Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) from the right side of the box. Magee was left open from 10 yards out and deposited her second goal of the season.

The Rams (3-2) received a fine performance in goal from freshman Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.) as she made four saves for her second shutout of the season.

Senior keeper Caitlin Avery (East Hampton, Conn.) turned away four shots for the Colonials (2-1-1) in defeat.

Western out shot Farmingdale, 11-8, but several chances sailed past the target.

The Rams now travel to face Cortland State on Saturday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m.
