Women's Soccer Has Four Players Named to ECAC Metro All-Star Team

- Magee, Smith, Lasota and Cerverizzo named ECAC Metro All-Stars -


Centerville, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced the 2011 ECAC Division III Metro Women's Soccer All-Stars. Farmingdale State had a Skyline Conference leading four players named All-Stars as junior forward Corine Magee (Mastic, N.Y.), junior midfielder Jamie Smith (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), junior defender Jillian Lasota (Massapequa, N.Y.) and senior defender Katrina Cerverizzo (Center Moriches, N.Y.) each earned Second Team honors.

Magee was second on the team in goals (11) and points (25) and led the Rams with three game-winning scores this season. Magee ranked sixth in the Skyline in goals, eighth in points and 10th in points per game.

Smith started all 22 games and led Farmingdale State with 10 assists and 26 points from her midfield position and was third on the team with eight goals. Smith finished tied for the conference lead in assists and was fifth in points. She averaged just under one assist per Skyline match with a conference leading 0.88 assist per game average.

Lasota started every game and anchored a defense that held an impressive 0.57 goals against average. The Rams finished tied for first in the Skyline after allowing only 13 goals this season.

Cerverizzo, a team captain, started all 22 games and led the Rams with 12 goals scored this year. She leaves Farmingdale State as the all-time leading scorer with a total of 87 points (37 goals, 10 assists). She also holds the school record for career game-winning goals (11) and games started (85).
