Rams Tie 14th Ranked Ithaca

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Senior forward Rebecca Richman's (West Islip, N.Y.) header with 6:15 remaining in regulation tied the game at 1-1, leading Farmingdale State to a double overtime tie against 14th ranked Ithaca College. The Rams now stand at 6-1-2 on the season, while the Bombers are 5-0-2.

Ithaca struck first as junior midfielder Caroline Jastremski (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored in the 26th minute off a pass in front by senior defender Andi Roach (East Doylestown, Penn.). Farmingdale State held a 12-6 shot advantage in the first half, but went into the break trailing 1-0.

With 6:15 remaining in regulation, Richman scored on a header off the throw in from freshman midfielder Andrea Kiefer (Centereach, N.Y.) to even the score at 1-1.

Neither team would score in the first or second overtime as they each attempted two shots. Farmingdale State held a 20-11 shot advantage for the game.

Senior goalkeeper Amanda Maass (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) made six saves for the Rams, while junior Becca Salant (Holliston, Mass.) recorded four saves for Ithaca.

Farmingdale State next will open Skyline Conference play as the travel to NYU-Poly on Monday, September 26th at 6:30 p.m.
