Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team blanked Manhattanville College, 5-0, in today's non-conference game. The Rams improve to 4-0 on the season, while the Valiants fall to 0-3.
Farmingdale went up 2-0 in the first half with a goal from senior forward Rebecca Richman (West Islip, N.Y.) on a corner kick, followed by an unassisted goal from junior forward Jamie Smith (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.). In the second, junior forward Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) sent home a long pass from freshman midfielder Andrea Kiefer (Centereach, N.Y.) for the 3-0 lead.
Merill assisted the next goal by junior forward Theresa Martorano (Commack, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Marisa Diano (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) scored the games final goal off a pass from freshman forward Mary Armstrong (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.).
The Rams will be traveling to face Skidmore and Husson this weekend in the Skidmore College Tournament. They face Skidmore on Saturday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m. and play Husson on Sunday, September 11 at 11:30 a.m.
