Rams Blank Gators for Skyline Win

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team allowed only two shots in a 3-0 win over Skyline Conference opponent The Sage Colleges this afternoon. The Rams improved to 12-4 overall, 7-1 in the Skyline.

Sophomore midfielder Kasey Estelle (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) put the Rams ahead only 2:52 into the match, as she netted the pass from junior forward Rebecca Richman (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip). Farmingdale State allowed one shot in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Rams came out of the break and scored within two minutes, as sophomore forward Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees) put Farmingdale State on top 2-0. Freshman defender Sarah Golden (Greenport, N.Y./Greenport) assisted Merrill's score as well as the game clinching goal by junior defender Kerry Larkin (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) in the 85th minute. The Rams also held a 7-1 corner kick advantage over the Gators (5-6, 3-4 Skyline).

Senior goalkeeper Brittany McDonald (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont) had 12 saves for Sage. 

Farmingdale State next will host Richard Stockton in a non-conference game on Monday, October 18th at 3:00 p.m.
