Newark, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team fell in a non-conference game to NYU, 1-0. The Rams suffered just their second loss this season and now stand at 7-2 overall, while the Violets improve to 4-5-1.

In the first half, Farmingdale held a 4-3 shot advantage and finished the game with a 14-7 overall shot advantage.

The only goal of the game came in the 65th minute by sophomore midfielder Serra Tumay (Delray Beach, Fla./St. Andrews School) as she netted the game winner in the 65th minute, taking a feed from senior forward Laura Palumbo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall Academy) at the edge of the box and lofting a shot over the keeper.

The Rams will travel to face Skyline opponent Purchase College on Wednesday, September 29th at 7:00 p.m.
