GREENWOOD, Ind. | The 2023 edition of Academic All-District Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, was released Tuesday (May 16), and three Farmingdale State College student-athletes -- sophomore second baseman Alyssa Cowen (Garden City South, N.Y.), junior right fielder Jenna Giliberti (Bellmore, N.Y.) and senior first baseman Brooke Walker (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) -- all picked up NCAA Division III recognition from the organization.

All three Rams will now appear on the Academic All-America ballot; those teams will be announced on June 6.

Nominees for the program must be a starter or important reserve on their team, and carry at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) at their current institution. In all, the trio are part of a list of nine honorees from Skyline Conference institutions.

Cowen, a computer programming major, started in 36 of her 37 appearances in her sophomore campaign. She scored 13 runs while driving six, while laying down eight sacrifice bunts.

Giliberti, an applied psychology major and now a two-time first-team All-Skyline Conference selection in as many FSC campaigns, ended the season tied for the conference lead in runs scored (49), ranked fourth in slugging percentage (.619) and fifth in OPS (1.064), holds a No. 5 national ranking in runs per game (a Skyline-best 1.32) from her leadoff spot in the batting order.

Walker, a three-time all-conference honoree with a major of science, technology and society, batted .315 with a team-high nine doubles and 13 extra-base hits (tops on the team). She finished the year ranked fourth in the Skyline (and No. 85 nationally) with four triples, while her 24 RBI tied for seventh on the conference leaderboard.
