KISSIMMEE, Fla. | The Farmingdale State softball team finished up their spring break trip to The Spring Games with a pair of doubleheaders on Thursday and Saturday.

Thursday, March 16

The Rams dropped game one to Hamline, 15-10, before falling to Arcadia, 5-2, in a shortened six-inning game.

FSC trailed 2-0 after the first inning of game one and quickly tied the score on an RBI ground out by freshman Samantha Stolfi (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and an error.

The Pipers regained the lead with six unearned runs in the top of the third, but FSC closed the gap with three runs in the fourth, including RBI's by senior Allie Stanya (Manorville, N.Y.) and sophomore Alyssa Cowen (Garden City South, N.Y.).

Hamline added a run in the fifth and three each in the sixth and seventh to take a commanding 15-5 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Rams' junior left fielder Jenna Giliberti (Bellmore, N.Y.) hit a two-run double before scoring on an error in the next at-bat. Later in the inning, sophomore designated player Ava Shorr (North Babylon, N.Y.) and freshman catcher Lindsay Cahill (Shoreham, N.Y.) tallied RBI's to cut the deficit to five. FSC loaded the bases with two outs but Hamline forced a fly out as the game ended 15-10.

Giliberti, senior center fielder Priscilla Rivera (Brentwood, N.Y.) and Cahill finished with two hits apiece, while Stanya, Shorr, senior Brooke Walker (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) and freshman Christina Rodriguez (Vineland, N.J.) added a hit each.

In game two of the day, Farmingdale State was held to just two hits as Arcadia pitcher Paige Nolan struck out 11 in a complete game. FSC's two runs came on a Stolfi single in the top of the sixth.

The Rams fell to both Middlebury, 12-1, and Tufts, 11-3, on Saturday afternoon.

Rivera had a hit and run scored against the Panthers, while Stolfi recorded a double and an RBI.

Against the Jumbos in game two, Cowen and freshman Lauren Varagnolo (Centereach, N.Y.) were 1-for-1 with a run scored. Giliberti and Rivera registered one run batted in apiece in the loss.
