2022 Softball All-Conference with headshots and Skyline logo

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference's 10 head softball coaches have cast their votes on the 2022 edition of the all-conference team, and Farmingdale State College senior right-hander Allie Stanya (Manorville, N.Y.) has been selected as Pitcher of the Year for the second-consecutive campaign.

Stanya's Rams teammate, freshman righty Ava Shorr (No. Babylon, N.Y.) was selected as Rookie of the Year for her exploits both in the pitcher's circle and as designated player.

Shorr (as pitcher and utility) and Stanya headline a list of six FSC student-athletes named to the all-conference first team, including senior catcher Lyndsey Shaw (Sayville, N.Y.), junior first baseman Brooke Walker (Hampton Bays, N.Y.), senior shortstop Jessica Clark (Selden, N.Y.) and sophomore right fielder Jenna Giliberti (Bellmore, N.Y.).

Senior center fielder Priscilla Rivera (Brentwood, N.Y.) was named to the all-conference second team, while junior pitcher/outfielder Gia D'Andrea (Howard Beach, N.Y.) earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Stanya was named the Most Outstanding Player of this past weekend's 2022 Skyline Conference Softball Championship, after earning three of her team-best 15 wins in the pitcher's circle on the weekend – including carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning of Sunday's championship final triumph versus Manhattanville. She leads the conference in ERA (1.44), while ranking second in wins and opposing batting average (.216), and third in strikeouts (93) in her 102 innings pitched entering next weekend's 2022 NCAA Division III Softball Championship.

Shorr ranks No. 3 in the Skyline in ERA (2.00), opposing batting average (.221) and wins (13) in the circle, while batting .274  with six doubles, 13 runs and 23 RBI in the middle of the FSC lineup. She fired the third perfect game in program history on April 26 at Yeshiva.

Shaw is now a two-time all-conference first-team selection, and leads the Skyline with her .894 slugging percentage and 1.398 OPS, while ranking second in triples (6) and home runs (8) from her leadoff spot in the lineup. She has scored 37 runs while collecting as many RBI. With the NCAA's rankings set to update through this past weekend's conference championship play, Shaw was ranked No. 7 nationally through games played May 5 in slugging percentage.

A second-team all-conference choice in 2021 as a third baseman, Walker is batting .443 (11th in Skyline) with a .649 slugging percentage and 1.144 OPS (both No. 8) from her cleanup spot in the order, and has accounted for 57 runs on the campaign with her 32 runs scored and 25 RBI. In the field, she ranks second in the conference with her .987 fielding percentage, and has been involved in a Skyline-best 12 double plays turned in her 237 fielding chances (second-most in the conference, and tops out of first basemen).

Clark has reached base at a .521 clip, good for the No. 8 mark in the Skyline, while her .419 batting average also ranks eighth. In the field, she has been involved in 11 double plays turned, while the shortstop's 69 assists rank No. 4.

The team's No. 3 hitter, Giliberti is batting a team-high .458 entering NCAA play, ranking No. 6 on the conference leaderboard in that category. She is tied for fourth in the conference with three triples, and ranks eighth in both runs scored (34) and hits (44). She was instrumental in this past weekend's conference title run for the Rams, batting 6-for-10 with four runs scored, two walks and two RBI.

Rivera earns all-conference kudos for the third time in as many seasons at FSC (first team, 2019 and '21), and enters NCAA competition with a conference-best eight sacrifices to go with a .368 batting average, 23 runs scored and seven stolen bases from her No. 2 spot in the lineup. She has played an error-free center field the last two seasons, including her last 64 chances spanning back to 2019.

D'Andrea has appeared in 11 games for the Rams in 2022, scoring four times with a .357 on-base percentage over 13 plate appearances, while going 1-0 in the pitching circle with six strikeouts in her four innings of work.
