Nicole Farber Named ECAC Metro Softball Player of the Week

Centerville, Mass. - Junior shortstop/pitcher Nicole Farber (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) was named the ECAC Metro Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday, March 23rd for her play last week. Farber also joined the NCAA record books last week, recording eight consecutive hits on March 16-17th.

Farber went 16-for-22 (.727) with 18 RBI’s, 12 runs scored, five doubles and three home runs, leading the Rams to a 6-0 week in Orlando, Florida.

Her eight consecutive hits came in game two against St. Joseph's (CT) on March 16th and then carried over to game one against Daniel Webster on March 17th. Against St. Joe's, she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a single and two RBI's. She then batted 5-for-5 with eight runs batted in, five runs scored and two home runs in game one against Daniel Webster.

Her streak was halted in game two with a fly out to second base, but she pitched a complete game shutout in that game, allowing two hits while striking out five and walking only one batter.

In the next two games vs. University of New England, Farber was 5-for-6 at the plate with a homerun, three RBI‘s and three runs scored.

She currently leads the team with a .590 batting average, 39 at-bats, 16 runs scored, 23 hits, 6 doubles, 24 RBI's and a 1.128 slugging percentage. She is tied with sophomore teammate Aubrey Walker with a team-leading five homeruns.
