Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #7

- Famularo Named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #7 on Monday, October 15, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Men's Soccer Update (6-8-1, 4-3 Skyline) - Full Report

Men's soccer went 1-1 in two conference games this week, defeating Purchase 4-0 on Wednesday and falling to NYU-Poly, 2-1, on Saturday. Junior Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) made seven saves for his sixth shutout of the year against the Panthers, while freshman midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) scored two goals and was named the Skyline Rookie of the Week.

This week the men will travel to Maritime on Thursday, October 18 at 7:00pm, followed by a trip to The Sage Colleges on Saturday, October 20 at 11:30 a.m. That game will be played at Albany College of Pharmacy's Field.

Women's Volleyball Update (9-7, 3-1 Skyline) - Full Report

Going 1-2 this week, Farmingdale picked up a 3-0 win over Lehman and fell to NYU-Poly and Rutgers-Camden. Sophomore outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) finished with a team-leading 3.44 kills per set, six aces and one block assist. Freshman outside Angela Kranz (Bohemia, N.Y.), who was named to the Skyline Player of the Week Honor Roll, was third on the team offensively with 1.44 kills per set and led the team defensively with 3.56 digs per set.

Men's Golf Update

The Rams finished tied for second in the two-day Hudson National Fall Classic on Sunday, October 14 and Monday, October 15. Individually, junior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) shot a pair of 75's for a two-day total of 150 and a third place finish.

This week, Farmingdale will travel to Centenary College on Tuesday, October 16 for the Cyclone Fall Invitational, before finishing out the week at the Skyline Conference Championship, held at Bethpage State Park's Red Course on Sunday, October 21 and Monday, October 22.

The winner receives the automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division III Golf Championships, which will take place May 14-17 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.

Women's Soccer Update (9-7, 4-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's soccer team went 2-1 this week, with wins over Purchase and NYU-Poly, but falling to the #4 team in the nation, Ithaca, 3-0. Senior midfielder Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) scored a team-leading three goals and had one assist in the wins, while freshman forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) finished with two goals and an assist in the three games.

Up this week, the Rams travel to Maritime on Thursday, October 18 at 5:00 p.m. and play their final regular-season home game on Saturday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m., featuring Senior Day for our six seniors.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

The Rams were led by sophomore William Frederic (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) at the St. John's Fall Festival on Sunday afternoon.

Frederic posted a time of 17:40.47, to place 10th overall, while Bonilla finished in 27th place in 17:17.20. Among all Division II, III and Junior College runners, Frederic was 4th and Bonilla was 6th.

Farmingdale State will run next in the St. Joseph's Invitational on Saturday, October 20 at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, N.Y.

Women's Tennis Update (6-4, 3-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams fell in their only game this week, 9-0 to William Paterson.

This week will feature Senior Day for two of our student-athletes on Friday, October 19 at 4:00 p.m. in a home match versus NYU-Poly.
