Parkinson Highlights at Yale Invitational and Penn Relays

New Haven, Conn. - Senior Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) finished 1st in four events as the Rams outdoor track team traveled to both the Penn Relays and the Yale Springtime Invitational this week.

On Friday, the men's 4x100m and 4x400m relay team traveled to Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 4x1 finished in a time of 42.49, which moves them into #7 All-Time at FSC. The 4x4 relay won the event in 3:16.84. Their time is 2nd best in the ECAC and moves them into #8 All-Time, along with moving them to #15 nationally in the 4x4.

On Sunday at Yale, Parkinson won the 100m with a time of 10.95 seconds, before winning the 200m (22.16) and then running the anchor leg of the winning 4x1 relay team (42.75).

The Rams swept the 100m with Parkinson taking 1st, sophomore Chad George (Levittown, N.Y.) in 2nd and sophomore Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) in 3rd.

Freshman James O'Brien (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) took 2nd place in the 3,000m Steeplechase and his personal best time of 9:52.25 moved him to #2 on the All-Time list. This also qualified him for ECAC's.

In the throwing events, junior Stephen Schmidt (Levittown, N.Y.) finished 2nd in the Discus and Jyaire Ewa (Stamford, Conn.) finished 2nd in the Hammer.

Next up for the Rams is the NJAC Championships at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. on Saturday-Sunday, May 6-7.
