Lamarre and Grant Qualify for ECAC's at NJ Invitational

Ewing, N.J. - Senior's Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) and Daquan Grant (Copiague, N.Y.) each posted ECAC qualifying jumps for Farmingdale State at the New Jersey Invitational on Saturday.

Lamarre placed fifth in the long jump with a qualifying leap of 6.78m (22' 3"), while Grant took third in the triple jump with an ECAC mark of 13.62m (44' 8 3/4").

Freshman Stephen Schmidt (Levittown, N.Y.) finished fourth in the discus with a toss of 41.93m (137' 6") and freshman Karl Nilsen (Smithtown, N.Y.) moved into ninth on the FSC All-Time List with his seventh place finish (4.10m - 13' 4") at the event.

The men's 4x100m relay team of Jonathan Gortman (Dix Hills, N.Y.), Luther Hill III (Roosevelt, N.Y.), Joseph Papa (Harrison, N.Y.) and James D'Onofrio (West Babylon, N.Y.) took sixth place with a time of 44.44. D'onofrio also posted a personal best time of 11.19 in the 100m.

The women were led by freshman Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) whose fifth place finish in the hammer throw (40.29m - 132' 2") is second on the FSC All-Time List.

The men's and women's outdoor track teams next will compete at the CTC Championships at Richard Stockton on Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th.
