Jenkins Leads Rams at TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational

New York, N.Y. - The FSC men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational held at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York, N.Y. on Saturday evening. The field consisted of Division I and Division III teams.

Freshman Khadia Jenkins (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led the women's team with a pair of eighth place finishes in both the high jump and the shot put. Jenkins' leap of 1.56m (5' 1.25") in the high jump ranks fifth on the FSC All-Time List. She followed with a toss of 9.71m (31' 10.25") in the shot put.

For the men, junior Chris Syrett (East Norwich, N.Y.) placed ninth in the 60m with a time of 7.75. In the 60m preliminaries, sophomore Morris Johnson (Binghamton, N.Y.) recorded a mark of 7.21 which is eighth on the FSC All-Time List. Johnson also took 12th out of 41 competitors in the 200m in 23.47.

Freshman Jovany Philippe (Huntington, N.Y.) earned a fifth place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.80m (5' 10.75") and 13th in the long jump with a leap of 6.17m (20' 3").

The Farmingdale State indoor track teams next will head to the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. for the NYU Gotham Cup on Friday, January 25th.
