Rams Fall to Yeshiva in Skyline Finals; Baker Named Most Outstanding Player

#1 Yeshiva - 5, #2 Farmingdale State - 3


Edgewater, N.J. - The second-seeded Farmingdale State men's tennis team fell to #1 Yeshiva, 5-3, in the Skyline Finals this afternoon. FSC freshman Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament after notching two victories today.

The Rams (12-3) captured two-of-three doubles points as Baker and teammate Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) took an 8-6 decision in the first position, while Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) and Chris Molchan (Mattituck, N.Y.) picked up an 8-5 victory at third doubles.

In singles play, Baker won 6-2, 6-0 in the #1 spot, but Yeshiva (14-7) earned wins in the second through fifth positions to take the match, 5-3.

The #6 singles match was left unfinished after the Maccabees claimed the Championship.

Yeshiva won their sixth straight conference title and have earned the conference's automatic bid into the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship.
