FSC Men's Tennis Falls to Baruch in Spring Opener

Queens Village, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team opened their 2019 spring season with a non-conference match against Baruch College on Sunday afternoon and lost, 6-3.

FSC earned wins at both the #1 and #2 doubles as freshman Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) and sophomore Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) captured an 8-3 victory in the first position before freshman Malik Bass (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and senior Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) won in a tiebreaker at second doubles, 8-7 (7-5).

Heading into singles play trailing 2-1, the Bearcats recorded five of the possible six points in singles competition to secure the non-conference victory, 6-3. Baker earned a convincing 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles for the Rams.

The Farmingdale State men's tennis team next heads to The College of Staten Island for a non-conference match on Saturday, March 23rd at 2:00 p.m.
