Merchant Marine Blanks Rams in Skyline Match

Merchant Marine - 9, Farmingdale State - 0


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team played host to Merchant Marine in a Skyline Conference match on Monday night and fell, 9-0. The Rams dropped to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play, while the Mariners improved to 6-5, 4-0.

In first doubles, the FSC pairing of freshman Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) and junior Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) were defeated, 8-1, while senior Marvin Beaubrun (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and sophomore Elijah McCall (West Babylon, N.Y.) lost, 8-2, in the #2 position. At third doubles, freshman Chris Molchan (Mattituck N.Y.) and junior Daniel Kafka (Massapequa, N.Y.) fell, 8-0, as Merchant Marine rounded out the sweep.

In singles play, the Rams dropped each of their matches: Gaudio (0-6, 5-7), Maslak (0-6, 0-6), Beaubrun (2-6, 1-6), Kafka (2-6, 2-6), senior Patrick Madigan (Sayville, N.Y.) (1-6, 2-6) and Molchan (1-6, 2-6)

Farmingdale State will travel to Lehman for a non-conference match later today at 4:30 p.m.
