Farmingdale, N.Y. - The men's tennis team finished the 2014 season with a 7-6 record, including a 4-2 mark in the Skyline Conference. The Rams earned the #3 seed for the playoffs but fell, 5-0, at second-seeded Yeshiva University in the semifinals.
Freshman Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.) was crowned the Skyline Confernce Rookie of the Year and a First Team selection, was sophomore Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) was named to the Second Team.
Danzy posted a 9-3 overall record (5-2 SKY) at the #1 singles position and was 5-7 playing first doubles. Palacios, the #2 singles player, was 6-6 in singles and 5-7 at #2 doubles.
Junior Brian Heinlein (Patchogue, N.Y.) posted a 7-4 record in singles and a 4-2 mark in doubles, while freshman Cajetan Ferrao (Flushing, N.Y.) was 6-3 playing #6 singles for Farmingdale State.
The Rams graduated two seniors this year.
