Farmingdale State - 7, Yeshiva University - 2
Edgewater, N.J. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team defeated Yeshiva University yesterday, 7-2, in a match held at Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, N.J. The defending-champion Rams finished the regular-season 5-1 in conference play and are seeded #2 for the upcoming Skyline playoffs.
Farmingdale won 8-5 at 1st doubles and fell in 3rd doubles, but won by default at 2nd doubles to hold an early 2-1 lead going into the singles.
In singles play, the Rams took matches 1-5 for the conference win.
Farmingdale sTate will host #3 Mount Saint Mary in the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference Playoffs on Thursday, April 26 at 4:00 p.m.
The winner will advance to the Championship match, hosted by the highest remaining seed, on Saturday, April 28. The winner of the championship match receives an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament.
