Bileddo Tallies Game-Winner as FSC Defeats Mount Saint Vincent

Farmingdale State - 2, Mount Saint Vincent - 1


FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Knotted at 1-1 with 19:09 to play, Farmingdale State sophomore midfielder Anthony Bileddo (Carle Place, N.Y.) netted the game-winning goal to send the Rams past Mount Saint Vincent, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. FSC improved to 2-2-2 in Skyline Conference action, while the Dolphins dropped to 3-2-2.

The Rams (4-5-2) opened the scoring in the 25th minute as sophomore midfielder Sam Anjo (Mineola, N.Y.) passed to senior forward Michael Lanouette (Hamden, CT), who scored from 10 yards out.

Mount Saint Vincent (5-4-2) responded late in the first half as Luke St. Denis came off the bench and received a through pass from Ian Lamas for the tying score.

Early in the second half, Rams' freshman forward Tyree Baskin Jr. (Freeport, N.Y.) sent a shot past the MSV goalkeeper but was stopped by a defender on a team save.

Farmingdale State senior goalie Justin Silva (Bellerose, N.Y.) halted a Dolphins scoring chance in the 66th minute, making a pair of saves, to keep the game tied at 1-1.

With 19:09 on the clock, FSC sent a ball towards the net that was kicked high in the air by a Mount Saint Vincent defender. Bileddo located the ball as it was falling and scored into the top right corner of the net for the eventual game-winning goal.

With five minutes remaining, Silva kicked out a Dolphins shot to the bottom corner, before senior defender Joe Innamorato (West Babylon, N.Y.) took a second shot off the chest for a team save.

Mount Saint Vincent had just one more shot down the stretch as Farmingdale State earned the 2-1 Skyline Conference victory.

Silva notched seven saves in the win for FSC.

The Rams next will head to Manhattanville for a Skyline Conference game on Tuesday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m.
