Newburgh, N.Y. - Mount Saint Mary College freshman forward Connor Doyle (New Windsor, N.Y.) scored both the game-tying and game-winning goals in the Knights 2-1 double overtime Skyline victory over Farmingdale State this afternoon. The FSC men's soccer team dropped to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in the conference, while MSMC improved to 9-5-1, 5-1-1.

The Rams controlled the opening minutes as they tallied three shots in the first 9:20 of the contest. Farmingdale State senior defender James Barrett (Wantagh, N.Y.) and sophomore forward Kyle Darden (Floral Park, N.Y.) each recorded a shot on goal that was saved by Mount Saint Mary sophomore goalie Jakup Myrtja (Ulcinj, Montenegro) before a shot by sophomore midfielder Alex Castano (Valley Stream, N.Y.) hit the crossbar.

FSC would break the scoreless tie in the 41st minute after a shot by senior midfielder William Grajales (Cali, Colombia) hit the crossbar and senior midfielder Alec Chapoteau (Wantagh, N.Y.) buried the rebound.

The Rams held a 5-4 shot advantage as they took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

The game remained 1-0 until the final minute of play when Doyle scored off the corner kick by Knights freshman midfielder Matthew Wyant (Beacon, N.Y.) to tie the game at 1-1.

MSMC outshot the Rams 11-6 in the second half and held a 5-3 corner kick advantage as the game headed into overtime.

After neither team would register a shot on goal in the first overtime, Doyle scored the game-winner just 3:41 into the second OT on a header to the right post off the center from sophomore midfielder Joseph Mesoraca (Oceanside, N.Y.).

Doyle finished with four points on the day on his two goals.

Senior goalkeeper Scott Flores (Commack, N.Y.) made six saves in the loss for FSC.

Farmingdale State next hosts Mount Saint Vincent for a Skyline Conference game on Tuesday, October 16th at 4:00 p.m.
