Rams Drop Season Opener at Penn State-Harrisburg

Middletown, PA - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team traveled to non-conference opponent Penn State-Harrisburg for their first game of the 2018 season this afternoon and fell, 4-0.

The Lions (2-0) opened the scoring in the 28th minute as sophomore forward Joey Aman (Annapolis, MD) netted the pass from sophomore midfielder Shammah Gahomera (Westbrook, ME). Only 3:54 later, Penn State-Harrisburg took a two-goal advantage on Aman's second score of the day. The Lions notched their third and final goal of the half in the 43rd minute after junior midfielder Luis Velasco (Harrisburg, PA) scored off the feed from sophomore goalkeeper Nicholas Guglielmetti (Rochester, MI).

The only score in the second half came with two minutes left to play as Penn State-Harrisburg's Zach Hambleton (Perkiomenville, PA) tallied an unassisted goal to cap off the 4-0 shutout victory.

Aman finished the afternoon with a game-high two goals for the Lions.

FSC (0-1) senior goalkeeper Scott Flores (Commack, N.Y.) stopped nine shots in the loss, while Guglielmetti had two saves in the win for Penn State-Harrisburg.

The Rams next play host to non-conference opponent Brooklyn College in their home opener on Wednesday, September 5th at 4:00 p.m.
