Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team earned a 7-0 victory over non-conference opponent Medgar Evers this evening in Farmingdale, N.Y. With the win, the Rams evened their record at 3-3 while the Cougars dropped to 1-9.

Farmingdale State opened the scoring less than eight minutes into the contest on a goal by freshman defender Luis Steven Vasquez (Bay Shore, N.Y.) off the pass from Christian Campos (Huntington Station, N.Y.). With 33:11 remaining in the half, junior defender James Barrett (Wantagh, N.Y.) connected on a through ball from Carlos Rivera (Huntington Station, N.Y.) to extend the advantage to 2-0. Only 52 seconds later, Rivera made a quick move in front around a defender and scored to put FSC up 3-0. Farmingdale State added goals from Campos and sophomore midfield Daniel Mehryari (Levittown, N.Y.) and took a 5-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, FSC used scores by both Edwin Garzon (East Patchogue, N.Y.) and Thomas Hamel (Farmingdale, N.Y.) en route to the 7-0 win over Medgar Evers.

The Rams next will travel to face Yeshiva University on Thursday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be played at Overpeck Park (Field 2) in Ridgefield Park, N.J. The address for the park is: 199 Challenger Road, Ridgefield Park, N.J. 07660.
