Mastrangelo's Game-Winner Earns FSC Fourth Straight Victory

Farmingdale, N.Y. - With 13:09 remaining in regulation, Farmingdale State sophomore forward Richard Mastrangelo III (Dix Hills, N.Y.) broke the scoreless tie with the only goal of the game to lead the Rams a 1-0 victory over Skyline Conference opponent Yeshiva University this afternoon. The FSC men's soccer team picked up their fourth straight win and improved to 5-4, 4-0 on the year.

After a scoreless first half in which Yeshiva (2-8-1, 2-6-1) held a 5-4 shot advantage, the Rams fired five straight shots on goal early in the second half but were unable to connect.

Mastrangelo's game-winner with 13:09 left to play, which was his first goal of the season, came on a header off the cross in front by junior midfielder Flynn Shanahan (Valley Stream, N.Y.).

FSC sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Mallia (Greenlawn, N.Y.) tallied three saves, while freshman Max Goldstein (Cleveland, Ohio) stopped seven shots in the loss.

The Rams next will play host to Sarah Lawrence in a conference matchup on Sunday, October 2nd at 11:30 a.m.
